Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the self-esteem and vocational self-esteem levels of master instructors. The sample consists of 225 trainers working at the Batman Public Education Center Directorate in 2024. Frequency, percentage, and descriptive statistics (means) were computed to summarize the demographic characteristics of the participants. Independent samples t-tests and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were conducted to examine differences between groups. To complement statistical significance testing, effect sizes were calculated using Cohen's d for independent samples t-tests and eta squared (η²) for one-way ANOVA. Furthermore, Pearson's correlation analysis was performed to examine the relationships among the study variables, whereas simple linear regression analysis was employed to determine the predictive effect of the independent variables on the dependent variables. A statistically significant difference was observed in self-esteem levels based on gender and the coaching field variable (p<0.05). However, no significant differences were found concerning age, educational status, marital status, or years of professional experience (p>0.05). Regarding vocational self-esteem levels, only the gender variable showed a significant difference (p<0.05), while other demographic variables did not present statistically significant variations (p>0.05). In this Study, it was determined that master instructor coaches exhibited moderate levels of general self-esteem and high levels of professional self-esteem. The results further indicated that male coaches demonstrated higher levels of general self-esteem, whereas female coaches exhibited higher levels of professional self-esteem. In this context, it can be suggested that career choices aligned with individuals’ interests and abilities may contribute to enhancing both general self-esteem and professional self-esteem.
